Douglas’s busy 25th cat caper (after 2012’s Cat in a White Tie and Tails) finds PR professional Temple Barr hesitantly taking on a new client, Silas T. Farnum. Farnum claims his “Area 54” attraction is going to be a hit on the Las Vegas Strip, and he has some unusual evidence to prove it. The discovery of two dead bodies on the building site, however, renders it more crime scene than scene of alien eeriness. Meanwhile, notorious serial killer “Kitty the Cutter,” is being secretly counseled by Temple’s fiancé, Matt Devine, and her ex-boyfriend, Max Kinsella, is back, memory impaired and hot on the heels of Kitty. Meanwhile, Temple’s clever cat, Midnight Louie, is on the case, looking to find the “purr”-fect solution.
