Preschool-K Easy art activities aimed at preschoolers fill the colorful pages of this cheery volume. After a note to adults about safety, supervision, and preparing for fun messes, each section offers a series of projects based on a group of materials. Painting and Printing, for example, includes classic potato printing techniques, as well as finger painting, foot painting, and the explosive balloon painting, which involves filling a balloon with paint, taping it to a canvas, and popping it (best done outside, naturally). Other sections cover paper arts, drawing, and some cardboard constructions. All of the projects are simple and achievable for little ones, and the instructions are intentionally loose to encourage creative play. The authors regularly indicate when to ask for adult help or if an activity will be particularly messy. Traceable templates for some of the shapes referenced through the text are included on the endpapers. Plentiful examples of the artwork are scattered all over the boisterous page design.
