      PreS-Gr 1-Collages rendered in vibrant hues lead youngsters through a fanciful expedition. The colorful spreads and rhyming text will entertain children as they discover the variety of bears found around the world. Similar to the author's "Penguins, Penguins, Everywhere!" (Chronicle, 2007), the rhymes include information about the animals ("Black bears doze in snowy winter sleep."). Two concluding spreads contain facts about bears and ursine habitats. ("Grizzly Bear Cubs grow up to be 9 feet tall and 1,000 pounds." "Black bears live in the mountains and woodlands of North America.") In the last one, the color-coded paw prints containing the facts correspond with the different continents on a map.
