The seaside town of Mirabelle, Fla., is the perfect setting for sweet and sensuous romance as a retired airman meets his match with a stunning schoolteacher. High school teacher Melanie O’Bryan is getting ready for the new school year with the help of her friend Bennett Hart, who’s home after surviving a helicopter crash in Afghanistan. As they work on a joint project, Mel senses that Bennett wants more from her than friendship, but his reluctance to act on his attraction just frustrates her. Even after they fall into bed, Bennett is unwilling to fully commit. When tragedy strikes, only time will tell whether their relationship is strong enough to withstand old wounds. Richard’s expert storytelling draws in the reader with affable and complex characters and just the right amount of romantic angst.
