“You have psychic abilities that you might not even be aware of,” medium Margolis (The Universe Is Calling You) proposes in this earnest outing. Margolis asserts that anyone can be psychic and offers exercises to hone one’s abilities through journaling, breath work, and gratitude. She encourages readers to become attuned to their intuition and contends that the universe sends messages via gut feelings, dreams, or déjà vu, but it’s up to the individual to correctly interpret them. “Love is the key for psychics to have clear experiences,” she adds, urging readers to “let go” of negative thoughts to make room for positivity. The bulk of the material consists of Margolis’s personal stories of the otherworldly, including how she began attending séances as a young woman and trained under the guidance of the deceased spirit guide Red Feather, who would communicate through a medium. Margolis also recounts intuiting Kelly Ripa’s pregnancy during a segment on Live with Regis and shares readings she gave to callers on her radio and TV shows. Practical advice takes a backseat to Margolis’s personal stories, and frequent exhortations to “follow your gut” can grow tiresome, but Margolis’s personable voice ensures her account remains engaging throughout. This is lots of fun, if short on guidance.
