Five months have passed since Jessie, Charlie and Ed made a dent in Joe Notto's criminal empire and sent him to prison. And, much to her relief, Jessie hasn't killed anyone! She and Charlie are enjoying their sleuthing partnership at D.C. Investigations, and Ed and Jessie are full into a steamy sexual relationship, despite her lingering love for Charlie. However, when their friend Mr. Fang hires D.C Investigations to solve the cold case disappearance of his wife, Jessie lands on the radar of the Black Lotus tong, a very dangerous Chinese crime organization in Toronto.
